  1. High arches wreck my foot for whatever reason. I have high arches, so I thought it’d be fine.

  2. Yea to be honest I think this kind of “universal advice” isn’t helpful for a lot of people. I have a high arched foot with a very prominent first metatarsal, as well as a set back arch. Any amount of arch support contacts my foot in the wrong place, and the narrow midfoot of most shoes destroys the outside of my feet because of my prominent metatarsal. I tell you I do absolutely everything in my hey dudes cause they’re completely flat, minimal cushioning. And zero arch support, I do everything (including running) in these shoes and I never have foot pain. On the contrary my what are supposed to be super high technology Brooks running shoes, absolutely destroy my feet. For a lot of people less is simply more.
